Congratulations Cat & Mic

Today I have two friends getting married - it is always wonderful when two people find each other. It always amazes me that in a world of so many millions of people somehow the right people meet but this is even more wonderful.

Cat is from Canada and Mic is from Denmark and they met through Facebook. There has been a lot of negative press about Facebook 'relationships' but I , along with many other friends, have watched this relationship grow, first with friendship, developing into love. We watched as they made plans to meet, saw the photos of that meeting and knew it was not a fleeting thing. We smiled as their love for each other grew and was shown in songs and messages. The photos they posted showed their journey until one day Cat was moving to Denmark. Such a huge step but there was no doubt that this was a match meant to be. We saw the photos of their 'first' wedding (so Cat can start the process of Danish citizenship) with both of them unable to wipe the smiles off their faces and now today they are getting married 'for real' in Canada.

These are two truly delightful people and I am honoured to call them friends - I am so pleased for them but more than that I admire them so much. They have both taken a leap of faith - with the first meeting and even now committing to each other. It gives me hope! Not so much for a relationship because I am not sure I would even want to go there, but more to believe. To believe that your dreams really can come true.

I am certainly not saying that you should rush out and accept everything at face value. Take the time to explore your dream, find out if it is what you want and then step out in faith. Of course there is always a chance you could be hurt, but there is a saying which can sound trite but its true nonetheless - 'It is better to have loved and lost than never have loved at all' - and this applies in all kinds of dreams - not just romantic ones. Life is for living and sometime we just have to take that step and see where it takes us.

So thank you Cat and Mic for your inspiration, for showing us that anything is possible and I wish you both a life full of love, laughter, joy, contentment and everything you wish for yourselves. I can't wait to see the  photos ;)
